Ep. 18 - Home Invasion is the eighteenth episode of Hand Jumper.
Plot[]
We begin with a flashback to Ryujin's fury shown in last episode. Sayeon wonders whether she was never meant to save Ryujin, and whether by saving her she has caused some greater tragedy in the future. She worries that she doesn't deserve to turn back time, but goes ahead with it anyway, craving the power that this gift promises to give her. Sayeon thinks about the ways in which essence is used, and considers that she has no example of an aberrant she could emulate... except her sister. Sayeon says that knowing Samin's gift, her own gift only makes sense.
A flashback brings us back to the family home, where Samin and Sayeon are facing the man who we have seen dead on the ground in previous flashbacks, Changseop Baek. Changseop says that he is the father of Sayeon's best friend from school (Jugyeong Baek), and asks Samin where their parents are. Sayeon has been telling him that they are off on a trip, but he has never seen them for years. Samin tries to tell him that she's 26, but he calls her on it and lets her know that he knows she's 17. He says that Sayeon is often at his house, and spends much of the day there, but is concerned that Sayeon is completely alone and never has anyone to look after her. Changseop says that Samin is clearly incapable of raising Sayeon on her own, and that even letting her stay at his house is a red flag.
Samin reveals that she knows a lot about the man because she did a background check on him. That he is a police seargeant, and other personal information. Without having done a background check, she says that she would never have allowed Sayeon to enter his home. Samin tells Sayeon to go to her room, but Sayeon stays and asks where their mom is. Samin looks at her sister in consternation, and the episode ends.
