Plot[]

Jieun Bo runs from someone stumbling into a bedroom and locking the door. She tells herself to think of ways to escape. She thinks to escape through the window before green essence cuts down the door, revealing a man in a pig mask and a woman in a mouse mask. The man asks where she is going, calling her Mrs. Prosecutor. She yells at them saying the Corps will catch them. The pig-masked man says that was funny and that she had a sharp tongue before raising his sword at her.

Later, Sayeon Lee watches the news, it is reporting, the criminal prosecutor, Jieun Bo was found dead in her apartment and deemed a murder done by aberrants, leaving her two children left alive. She had recently prosecuted and convicted an aberrant who murdered over 80 people. Sayeon Lee's sister, Samin Lee tries to get attention but she is fixated on the news, so she turns it off. Samin tells her that she could listen to her sister when talking to her and Sayeon apologizes.

Samin says that she has never seen her so interested in the news, especially since reports on murders by Aberrants are so common, although the victim is unusual. It's a shame that they killed the prosecutor but not her kids since when you uproot a weed, you burn the seeds too. Noticing Sayeon being uncomfortable, she reminds her that today is the big day, the final aberrancy test. This causes Sayeon to yell about how she is not an aberrant and even if she was, she will never be like Samin, before storming out.

She stops after running down the street and reflects that she should not have done that before yelling that she can be such a bitch sometimes. Jaeil finds her explaining that she was waiting for him. He says that she can yell at him while they walk. Sayeon tries to remind him that she told him not to go anywhere near where she lives. He explains that he got tired of waiting and that it was a dumb rule anyway. After all, what could be in her house, a monster? Sayeon stops for a moment as she reminds Samin causing Jaeil to think there is. Sayeon says there isn't and asks why that makes him excited before noticing that he is missing his backpack.

Before Sayeon can yell at him he explains that after the abberency test he plans to skip and enjoy his freedom. She tells him that he better at least pretend to study so he can get into college, but he retorts that he doesn't need college to be a bank robber. She points out how they don't meet basic human decency either. He points out that he's dirt poor so he can't afford it. Sayeon retorts how she's not rich, Jaeil responds that, yet she is a decent person and that it was a good point. Sayeon remarks that he doesn't know that. Causing Jaeil to question that if she wasn't a good person what does that make him?

Jaeil then says that he has a plan B. If she gets her dream job of being a criminal prosecutor, she can just use the money to bail him out of jail. Sayeon says that he can have all of it since it is not the money that matters to her. She further explains after Jaeil joked about it, it's making the world more just, making such bad things disappear. He jokes that would include bank-robber-him too and Syaeon jokes that that would be good. He points out that he better be careful or else she'll be like the lady on the news this morning who was killed by the Aberrants.

This causes her to think about how the biggest thing wrong in this world is Aberrants. In modern society they are very rare, they are very dangerous. They control the energy that flows through all life, called Essence, which also overflows in them, allowing them to check havoc on the helpless masses. The Government created laws to regulate these beings. And those aged 10-18, which is when aberrancy manifests, must take an annual test to determine whether they are Aberrants or not. Those who test negative are issued a Peace Card which is required to work, buy anything, travel, etc. While those who test positive are put into the aberrant Corps when they turn 18. There they become enforcers of the law, protectors of the people, and use their powers for the good of society. Before fading into a memory of Samin pointing out they could just not, since the government doesn't give a damn about them. Her mother, father, and sister are all Aberrants who live outside the law, and one day she will be too.

She sits alone in the classroom.
