Ep. 39 - The Final Round (5) is the thirty-ninth episode of Hand Jumper.
Plot[]
This episode begins where the previous episode ended. Sayeon grabs the blue baton from Tsubaki, and calls out to Iseul, who is busy fighting Jungwoo Do. With Jungwoo's blue spear still stuck through her body, Sayeon throws the blue baton over her head in Iseul's direction. In response, Tsubaki uses her gift to create multiple illusions of the baton to prevent Iseul from catching the real one.
The next panel shows a scene that occurred before the third match (Episode 36). Sayeon whispers into Iseul's ear, and this time the reader is shown what Sayeon told Iseul. Sayeon tells him Tsubaki's gift, and tells him she knows Tsubaki's gift from seeing it written on Instructor Sang's clipboard. Iseul is distraught at the thought that they are cheating, but then realizes that he might be able to counter her gift. Iseul explains to Sayeon that his own gift allows him to sense whether an object is real, but this ability won't be worth using in order to tell person-sized illusions apart from a real person. Sayeon says that she's just letting him know about Tsubaki's gift so he can be prepared for whatever happens. The scene ends, and we are back where Tsubaki just created many illusions of the blue baton.
In this moment, Iseul breaks off the fight with Jungwoo and activates his essence, allowing him to sense which baton is real. Jungwoo is surprised seeing Iseul activate his gift. Seeing which baton Iseul is reaching for, Jungwoo tries to catch it first but is too slow. Iseul, with both batons in his hands, has won the match for cell 4.
