Ep. 47 - Chesspieces is the forty-seventh episode of Hand Jumper.
Plot[]
This episode begins outside the third headquarters with Juni and cell 4. Juni remarks that Sayeon looks happy despite having just been defeated by Iseul. Sayeon says she feels like she has been encouraged recently. Juni set up Ryujin, who lost against Min, and Sayeon to spar with each other. Juni says that they are expected to use their essence to defeat each other, but not their gift. Sayeon thinks about the fact she saved up essence in the last fight in order to use her gift in this one. Her goal is to get Ryujin to reveal her abilities and skills, so that Sayeon can know how to best employ her in any challenges to come. When Juni begins the fight, Sayeon immediately activates her essence and assaults Ryujin, but Ryujin dodges the blow. Min is reminded of the first time Sayeon tried to charge at him using essence (in episode 22).
Ryujin falls on her butt and is concerned about her cap, but Sayeon uses a kick to attack Ryujin's head, shocking Iseul and Juni. Ryujin has activated her essence and blocked the kick. She remarks that someone has taught Sayeon the rudimentary basics, but Sayeon has no fighting experience. Ryujin then deactivates her essence and taps out of the fight. Sayeon considers that Ryujiin has plenty of combat experience as suspected, but isn't using it for some reason. She doesn't understand how Ryujin could resign herself to live like this and uses her gift to jump back in time to the beginning of the fight. Ryujin sees it happening out of the corner of her eye.
This time, when the fight begins, Sayeon wants to provoke Ryujin into attacking her. So she takes Ryujin's cap off of her head, and, confident that nothing she will do will have consequences since she can always jump back in time again, asks whether it was a gift from someone she loves before stomping on it.
