Ep. 48 - A Cadmean Victory is the forty-eighth episode of Hand Jumper.

Plot[]

This episode begins with a flashback from Ryujin's past. Jiwoon is repairing Ryujin's hat and embroiders a patch onto it before putting it back on Ryujin's head. We switch to a different scene from Ryujin's past. A bloodied and restrained Ryujin is being told by Ahn that she will either join the aberrant corps with the trainees, or be killed. Ryujin chooses death. Ahn tells her that the corps seeks aberrants with a level of talent like her, who was able to kill an officer at 17 years of age. Ahn says that Ryujin grew up in a nest, and speculates that she must have loved them and especially Jiwoon very much. This triggers Ryujin's rage.

Ahn says that Ryujin will only get her chance of revenge if she signs the paper committing herself to becoming a trainee. If she does, Ahn will unbind her hands. Ahn continues to needle Ryujin, asking whether he love was strong enough to do this. Ahn says that for love, she would do anything, and the scene switches back to Sayeon stomping on Ryujin's cap. Ryujin sees Jiwoon's corpse in her mind, and flashes her essence, sending out shockwaves. Sayeon is overjoyed, and thinks that Ryujin's aura is far angrier than the one at the warehouse. Ryujin asks Sayeon why she stomped the cap.

Next thing Sayeon knows, she wakes up on the floor, with Iseul leaning over her. Iseul tells her that Ryujin knocked her out with incredible speed, and Juni has been taking calls from a high-level officer. Iseul tells Sayeon that she has been unconscious for twenty minutes, making it impossible for Sayeon to jump back in time to redo the fight.
