Ep. 49 - Cell 4's Day Off is the forty-ninth episode of Hand Jumper.
Plot[]
Juni tells cell 4 that the rest of the day's lesson is cancelled because she needs to go to an emergency mission. Juni's tie shows that she has just recently been promoted to a level 7 officer. Juni explains that the vast majority of officer are level six, and there are far fewer officers higher up the ranks. Per headquarters there are 2 or 3 level 9 officers, and only 1 level 10. While Juni is talking, Sayeon is thinking about how she could possibly apologize to Ryujin. Juni explains that the head of the HQ is very busy recently, as many more casualties have happened and the underworld has various rumours going around about a Godling. Juni says that she was likely promoted to level 7 to replace one that was killed a few days ago. Then she sends off cell 4 until tomorrow morning.
Sayeon asks what's stopping them from running away if they leave without supervision. Juni shrugs, and says that they won't, and Sayeon thinks she's right. As they walk around the city, Iseul asks Ryujin whether she will run away. Ryujin says no, because all of the people she wants to kill are in the third HQ. Sayeon realizes that Iseul understood very quickly that Ryujin was the most likely of the four of them to try and flee.
Cell 4 tries to go to a restaurant, but are rejected for being aberrants. Sayeon cites a law that forbids discrimination against aberrants, but the restauraunt employee tells them to leave. The guests whisper things about them, implying that something major happened recently that people are blaming aberrants for. After trying to enter six restauraunts, all of them reject cell 4. Ryujin says that she warned them, and that it would only really possible if it was one of them, alone. Iseul says that his father never had a problem, likely because he's an officer and people fear him.
Sayeon is surprised at the intensity and universality of the discrimination against aberrants. She pieces together from the comments that Juni made earlier that something big must have happened recently. An elderly woman approaches cell 4, and asks why the children of the Godlings are looking so sad.
