Ep.8 - Red Letter is the eighth episode of Hand Jumper
Plot[]
Sayeon reacts in shock after Min nearly cut her throat, causing her essence to activate. Ryujin looks at Sayeon with a straight face, while Iseul sweats and gets behind her. Sayeon looks at her shoulder, seeing her hair on the right side being looped off, Min points at her and says that it worked. Iseul stands between them and tells Min that doing that is not cool and tells Sayeon that her essence color is unusual and is "super cool" for him. Sayeon starts to think that everyone in her cell seems to have a handle on their gift, but she doesn't even know what hers is. Ryujin stares at her and walks away from the room alone, Iseul warms her that she shouldn't wander the building on her own, but she ignores him and slam the door. Sayeon goes after Ryujin, after she closes the door, Iseul tells Min that girls don't like being scared, but what they don't like more is when their hair getting messed up and he says that Min should apologize to her.
Sayeon follows Ryujin along the hallway, she notices and asks Sayeon the reason of following her. Sayeon says that she was worried about Ryujin causing troubles, so she comes to look out for her, but Ryujin assumes that Sayeon is just making excuses to get away. Ryujin then asks her about why she didn't get mad when Min almost cut her throat, Sayeon looks confused, so Ryujin says that if Min did this to her, she wouldn't have left until his teeth are on the floor. Sayeon stays silent, Ryujin starts to assume that Sayeon is weak to confrontation, a total coward and is pathetic. Sayeon gets a little angry and says that she doesn't know anything about her, but Ryujin replied with "Great. We can keep it that way. I hate people like you." and walks away. Sayeon stands still and looks away with a sad face, the flashback about her past starts showing up, it is about the time she was standing next to the body of a man her sister, Samin killed. She starts to think about it and arranged her thoughts into words, "A coward? Weak to confrontation? What was I supposed to do? There wasn't anything I could--", before she finishes the sentence, someone interrupts her, she turns around and sees the pink-haired girl and the brown-haired girl behind her. The pink-haired girl says hi and says that she is from cell 3, she also says that her name is "Dahee Eun". Dahee introduces her friend who stands behind her, she is a shy girl, and her name is "Tsubaki Sumishiro". Dahee then says that she loves Sayeon's haircut, Sayeon tells her that the guy in her cell actually looped it off, so Dahee says that she will fix her hair.
Dahee finishes fixing Sayeon's hair and says that it could've been better if she used better pair of scissors, but Tsubaki says that it still looks nice. Dahee asks sayeon if she needs a mirror, but Sayeon says no, and she might start crying if she looks at it because she has been having a rough day and says thank you to Dahee and Tsubaki. She also says that she must be miserable to be around, Dahee disagrees and says that she isn't before Tsubaki interrupts and tells Dahee to head back to room three with her. After they left, Sayeon lies down on the mattress and feels like her head is filled with clouds, wondering how Jaeil is doing.
She falls asleep and has a dream about her younger self being all alone in the park, then a man calls her and asks her why she is alone in the park. Sayeon's younger self says that she was chasing butterflies but now she can't find her sister, the man calms her down and says that he will help her find her sister. Samin calls her from afar and runs towards her, the man starts talking to Samin, but she interrupts angrily tells him to stay away from Sayeon and calls him "a filthy aberrant". Sayeon wants to know why Samin talked to him like that, "Sayeon, Sayeon, listen to me. Don't ever talk to one of those officers again, you hear? They're dangerous to people like us." Samin says it while grabbing Sayeon's shoulders tightly.
A noise wakes Sayeon up. It is an announcement, asking her to go to room four. She is about to head out, but when she is getting up, she touches a piece of paper by accident. She picks it up to see what it is about. Then she opens it and has a surprised expression on her face.
