Plot[]

Sayeon opens the paper, seeing the beginning of the sentence- "Dearest sister,", she crumples the paper angrily and throws it in to the trash can, but she sighs later on, decides to pick it up and read it. "As long as you are in the corps, I've decided not to meddle with your decision. But I want those decisions to be informed ones so... Here's some advice. Sister to sister.

1.Do NOT trust your instructor- she will not keep you safe.

2.Do NOT trust officers above level 7- scum rises to the top.

3.The day you leave the corps, know that you will always have me."

Sayeon walks away, thinking that the letter is official and her sister, Samin has sent someone after her, and Sayeon doesn't want anything to do with her anymore. She walks into room four, Iseul waves at her, instructor Sang turns around and tells her to take a seat and asks why she didn't show up during mealtime. Sayeon says sorry and tells her that she was asleep at that time. Instructor Sang also tells her that her cell told her that Sayeon can't control her essence and asks her if her cell is right, Sayeon says yes. Instructor Sang activates her essence and tells Sayeon that aberrant gifts are catagorized by color, she manifests the tangible green essence in a form of a "body armor", which augments the user's body. She also tells another example about her teammate, Iseul Kim, who uses the intangible orange essence, which affects physical objects. Sayeon asks a question about her teal essence, wanting some answers about her gift, but instructor sang says that gifts with teal essence are often random and impossible. Instructor sang then says that one of her colleagues who uses teal essence has the ability to speak with birds, another has the ability to supplant another body's mind with his own, but they are impractical and both colleagues are dead now. She tells the cell to go to the dorm, get dressed and head to the front gate to meet the cell mentor she assigned for today's task which is to shadow other aberrants' activities through the city. She walks away and slam the door, Iseul tells the cell that he thinks she is so cool, but Ryujin interrupts and says that she thinks she is "a total prick" and bossy. Iseul tells Ryujin to have some respect because instructor sang is a level nine (IX), Sayeon looks at him and asks him if his dream is to reach level nine, he says no and says that he wants to reach level ten(X), the highest level aberrants can achieve. Ryujin starts laughing silently and says that there are only three level ten officers in the entire country, and he doesn't have what it takes. Iseul says that because he doesn't have what it takes, that's why he came here to learn and train, and he is really excited to be born as an aberrant, he also thinks that it is the best thing that ever happened to him.

At the front gate, Iseul tells a story about the third corps building, he says that before it is a corps building, it was made to be a college campus, but they canceled the plan when aberrant gangs began attacking around the area, so aberrant corps bought it before the building is even finished. Sayeon looks down on the floor while she walks, thinking that she looks a lot older in a suit. Then Iseul points to the girl who is standing on the front gate and tells his cell that he sees a red tie which maybe the mentor, but Sayeon disagrees and think that she is a curious onlooker. "Cell 4! Over here!" the girl who wears a red tie calls them.
